Key Features
Electromagnetic coil of insulated copper wire attracts the armature
Electrically operated using suitable low-voltage power supply
Main concepts
Electromagnetism, electric current, magnetic effect, make-and-break circuit
About This Product
When current flows, the coil becomes an electromagnet that pulls the armature, the hammer hits the gong and the circuit breaks; the cycle repeats rapidly to keep the bell ringing. Teachers use it to explain electromagnets, circuit operation and the conversion of electrical energy into sound. Educational Instrument can dispatch the Electric bell to laboratories in Kuwait, Côte d'Ivoire, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Sudan and Guinea-Bissau.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the electric bell keep ringing instead of striking once?
The same movement that makes the hammer strike the gong also breaks the circuit. The make-and-break process then repeats rapidly, giving a continuous ring.
